Mr. Stamets has advised companies doing business in Asia for more than a decade.

He concentrates his practice on foreign direct investment, most often into India, including establishment of operations, acquisitions and licensing arrangements. Russ frequently helps technology and life science companies on financings, strategic alliances and cross-border acquisitions. He counsels entrepreneurs throughout Asia on establishing and growing their businesses across markets. He helps private equity funds structure cross-border investments and is involved with significant financings for emerging companies.

Russ also handles contentious work, particularly in connection with enforcement of intellectual property rights and the dissolution of strategic alliances. He assists companies with all aspects of legal compliance, including the formulation of U.S. Foreign Corrupt Practices Act and export-related compliance programs and codes of conduct, training, due diligence and investigations.

Russ writes and speaks extensively on doing business in India. His articles have appeared in the Asian Wall Street Journal, International Commercial Litigation and Business India.

He received his law degree from the Indiana University School of Law in Bloomington, where he was an Editor of the Federal Communications Law Journal. He is a member of the Illinois, Pennsylvania and Florida bars.
